Our people NaDa Shoemaker
National Partnerships Manager and Co-lead for the Indian Country PortfolioNaDa Shoemaker serves as the national partnerships manager and co-lead for the Indian Country portfolio for Voices for Healthy Kids. In these roles, NaDa provides grant administration and leadership for issue coalitions and the Innovation, Equity and Exploration Workgroups, which provide equity and policy expertise, resources and recommendations to support field campaigns. NaDa leads collaboration and engagement with Native American communities.
NaDa has diverse experience as a past Federally qualified health center executive director in rural Appalachia, institutional review board administrator for cancer and genetics research in partnership with the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and a contractor developing and implementing tobacco cessation and prevention programs in rural Pennsylvania counties. She has vast experience in grant writing and administration, as NaDa was grant reviewer for the Pennsylvania Department of Health. NaDa also formerly provided leadership for a national cancer education and screening program, addressing the needs of uninsured and underserved individuals.
NaDa attended Bethel College and Friends University in Kansas and currently lives in rural Pennsylvania on a beef and maple syrup farm. In her spare time, she serves as a Stephen Minister and active volunteer with ASIA Families, which provides culture school and birth search tours for Korean adoptees.
